~ Our Farm ~

The fourteen sheep farm is located near Glenthompson at the base of the spectacular Grampians mountain range in Western Victoria. Over many years, the land has been carefully tended with the natural environment preserved to ensure our sheep  co-exist with native fauna and flora.
Our people love working here and are committed to our sustainable farming practices in water, pasture and waste  management. Keeping our  sheep and our farm in tip top condition is how we've been able to maintain such consistently high quality products.

~ Contented Sheep and Our Dairy ~

Our meticulously bred sheep live happy, unstressed lives out in the paddocks grazing on abundant, pristine pastures. Each day they wander into the dairy to be milked. Yes – they do have the added incentive of being able to enjoy even MORE feed while they’re there! Milking takes around an hour and each sheep provides about one litre of milk daily. When compared to the 40 litres an industrially milked cow produces and 5 litres a milked goat provides, it’s a very small amount. So you can see – fourteen sheep milk is truly precious!

~ Our Production Process ~

fourteen sheep sheep's milk products are made within hours of milking. Each yoghurt and cheese is carefully crafted according to traditional recipes dating back centuries, with minimal processing. So you get the benefit of pure sheep's milk yoghurt and cheeses.
Our cottage-like manufacturing facility works to the strictest professional quality standards, industry regulations regarding food safety, product testing and hygiene. Most of all, we preserve the pristine nature of natural, creamy sheep's milk, ready to be crafted into superior yoghurts and cheeses.

SHI LEI, Owner/Director

A visit to New Zealand by fourteen sheep's owner, businessman and entrepreneur Mr Shi Lei, introduced him to the powerful benefits of sheep's milk. A seed of a business idea had been sown. Some time later, Mr Shi learned that a sheep's milk farm in western Victoria, Australia was for sale. The idea of buying it was irresistible. Today, while fourteen sheep is maintaining the vision of the farm's original founder to produce a pure, healthy range of products and preserve the farm's pristine environment, the farm is developing as a business that  will be able to supply sheep's milk products – yoghurts, cheeses and  icecreams – to a far wider audience.

KLEIN WANG, Business Manager/Director

Who'd have thought a Melbourne Pharmacist with an MBA would find himself delighting in managing and growing fourteen sheep, a sheep milk farm! Klein Wang is doing exactly that! His role of negotiating new business and leading the business as it develops under its new ownership is both challenging and exciting. With exceptional people skills and experience in leading busy pharmacy teams, he's actually perfectly qualified for the task. Klein says he's very glad to have the farming expertise and dedication of the Farm Management team, to ensure that fourteen sheep cheeses and yoghurt continue to be premium quality products, and that the sheep and pastures are cared for as they have been for the last three decades.

JAKE BIDMADE, Farm Manager

Jake has had a passion for sheep farming for as long as he can remember. So it was no surprise that he chose to complete an Apprenticeship and then a Diploma in Agriculture at Rural Industries Skill Training College in Hamilton, while working on family and company-owned sheep and beef farms. The breadth of experience he has since gained and his ability to adapt to the many challenges of farming today were the perfect grounding for his current farm management position. Jake has known the farm since it was a small fat lamb and dairy production operation. fourteen sheep owners greatly value Jake's expertise which has been a key to growing the farm into a more focussed and much larger operation that is able to share its quality yoghurts and cheeses with many more businesses around Victoria and beyond.

PETA BLACKBURN, Assistant Farm Manager

Peta's keen interest in the outdoors, and especially horses, led her to choose to study a Diploma of Agriculture at Melbourne Polytechnic, right after successfully completing her Victorian Certificate of Education (Year 12) studies. It was during her Agriculture studies that her interest in sheep farming developed. Since graduating, Peta has gained valuable practical experience working on a variety of sheep and beef properties. Peta is very enthusiastic to be part of the team that helps to ensure the continued growth and success of fourteen sheep.
